Mother-of-four, 35, who smuggled dozens of MDMA pills into a festival inside Kinder eggs is jailed

A mother-of-four who smuggled more than 60 MDMA pills in to a music festival inside Kinder Eggs has been jailed for three years.

Sian Bullock, 35, residing in Thornton Cleveleys, Lancashire, attempted to sneak Class A drugs into Creamfields festival in Daresbury on Saturday, August 26, 2023. She concealed the drugs within Kinder Egg containers as she passed through security.

The care support worker confessed to authorities that she had hidden 64 tablets inside her body within the toy containers. Her attempt was foiled when sniffer dogs detected the drugs, leading to her discovery by security personnel.

Police estimated the drugs had a potential value of up to £630 but Bullock claimed she was unaware.

She told officers she didn’t know what the drugs were but admitted she had bought them for personal use.

Although she professed ignorance about the nature of the MDMA pills, she was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The case proceeded to Chester Crown Court and was reported by the Liverpool Echo on Friday, May 16.

She was sentenced to three years in prison and the judge at her trial said a custodial sentence was the only answer despite Bullock having four small children.

Following Bullock’s sentencing, Police Constable Lisa Green said: ‘Every year, we and the Creamfields events and security teams do our utmost to ensure that everyone attending the festival can have a safe and enjoyable time, and for the most part festivalgoers have respected the laws.

The care support worker admitted to police she had tried to smuggle 64 tablets in to the musical festival by hiding them inside her body, secreted inside Kinder Egg containers

‘Bullock will have no doubt been aware of these laws and the restrictions at Creamfields and would have had ample opportunity to re-think her actions before it was too late, with amnesty bins and surrender points placed at all festival entries, but she decided to run the risk – which did not pay off.

‘As a result of her selfish actions that day, she is now behind bars and her four children will now be without their mother for a considerable period of time.

‘Anyone who, like Bullock, decides to risk bringing illegal drugs into Cheshire should seriously reconsider their choices, as we will always take swift and robust action, and they will be dealt with to the full extent of the law.’

Bullock is not the first Creamfields festival-goer to try using Kinder Eggs to smuggle in illegal substances.

Last year two men were jailed for attempting to smuggle ketamine into the popular festival using Kinder Eggs stuffed up their bottoms.

Marshall Maddock – who was already under investigation for seperate drug offences – and Harry Hewitson were caught by sniffer dogs on their way into the Cheshire festival last year but police only discovered the full extent of their possession after an intimate search.

The duo were jailed for 18 months each after Maddock, 21, admitted to possession of Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession of Class B drugs (ketamine) with intent to supply and Hewiston, 22, pleaded guilty to possession of Class B drugs (ketamine) with intent to supply.

On their uncomfortable trip to Creamfields’ North Gate on August 25, 2023, the pair passed amnesty bins giving them the opportunity to ditch the illegal items.

But Chester Crown Court heard that a drugs dog picked them out on their way in, leading to officers conducting a search.

Maddock, of Rudheath, handed over a small quantity of drugs when searched, but then refused to be searched any further, as was the case for Hewiston, of Northwich.

As a result of this refusal, both men were were subjected to intimate searches, when officers found a Kinder Surprise capsule containing 10 bags of ketamine up each one’s anus.
