The news of the split between Shakira and Gerard Pique has triggered several questions such as exactly what amount the couple’s common fortune is after 12 years of relationship.
Pique and Shakira have recently announced that they were splitting, which means that their joint assets and fortune is set to be divided.
According to media outlet Celebrity Net Worth, Shakira‘s fortune is estimated at almost 300 million euros, while Pique has assets worth around 80m euros.
Shakira and Pique’s properties
A priori, these figures will not be altered due to the fact that they are not married. What is also not at risk are the properties that Shakira and Pique bought before they were together. The Colombian singer owns a mansion in Miami worth around 13m euros and the footballer has a three-storey house in the centre of Barcelona, valued at 4.5m euros.
Specialised lawyers taking over
The main issue is the capital or properties that both have acquired during their relationship, as they will have to come to an agreement on how to share them.
They will also need to agree on which of the two parents with have custody of their two children, Sasha and Milan. According to Informalia, the two have already hired specialised lawyers to begin the paperwork.
What properties do Shakira and Pique have in common?
The couple bought a house in 2012, located in Esplugues de Llobregat, valued at 4.5m euros. Later, in 2015, they acquired another house near Camp Nou for which they spent around five million euros. These are the only two properties that they will now have to divide.
