Dopey driver mows down cyclist at junction before asking ‘where did you come from?’

This is the shocking moment a careless driver mowed down a cyclist before asking ‘where did you come from?’

Barry Jones, 45, from Havering, East London, was forced to go to hospital following the crash and his £2,000 carbon bike was written-off after the driver hit him at a junction in Harold Hill.

Jones was left with bruising all over his body and pain in his ankle, hip and neck following the head-on collision.

Video footage shows Barry travelling down Gubbins Lane in Harold Hill as he attempts to cross the A12.

As he follows a people carrier in front and starts crossing the busy junction, a silver Vauxhall who was sitting patiently at the lights pulls across Barry.

However, the driver ends up colliding with Barry who is thrown from his bike and over the top of the silver Vauxhall.

Barry can be heard moaning in pain as the man leaves his car and casually says: ‘Alright mate.’

Unimpressed, Barry says: ‘F*****g alright mate? You having a f*****g laugh?!’

The driver then asks: ‘Where did you come from?’

Enraged by the driver’s remark, Barry continues: ‘What do you mean where did I come from? I came from the f*****g road you blind c***!’

Following the crash, the driver left the scene while Barry made his way to hospital to be checked over.

Speaking today, Barry said: ‘I went over to the left and obviously the guy saw a gap but didn’t look out for me.

‘He hit me, I was in a bit of pain in my side in my hip area and my back because I was over his bonnet.

‘It was painful at the start.

‘They called an ambulance and I went to hospital and I was cleared. Everything was fine, but I was sore for a few weeks.

‘I cycled past it yesterday and I felt some anxiety going across that road, that was quite strange.’

Barry recently shared the footage to social media on March 31 following a lengthy dispute with insurance over the incident that happened in September last year.

The footage was quickly met with support from Facebook users who were angered by the actions of the driver.

One said: ‘Another idiot car driver’.

While another said: ‘Car is at fault, he should have given way.’

A third also left a comment, saying: ‘Holy f***amoly.’

Explaining the footage on YouTube, Barry said that the silver Vauxhall in the crash had only been sold two days before the incident.

He also said that police had attempted to locate the driver after the crash.
