Who is Sean Flynn ?
A man who did not appear in court after being charged with the murder of his mother 19 years ago has been found dead in Spain after taking his own life, his lawyer has said.
Sean Flynn, 37, was due to stand trial in Livingston Superior Court on the murder of Louise Tiffney, but he did not appear.
An arrest warrant was issued on Tuesday, a judicial official confirmed.
Ms Tiffney, 43, disappeared after leaving her home in Dean Path, Edinburgh, in May 2002.

It is alleged that Flynn murdered his mother and attempted to defeat the purposes of justice by putting her body in the trunk of a car, driving into a wooded area and disposing of it.
Flynn was initially acquitted of the murder of his mother after a 2005 trial, having denied the charges against him.
Prosecutors requested permission for a retrial under the dual criminality legislation, which came into effect in 2011 and allows a person to be tried again for a crime for which she was previously acquitted.
Charged
At an earlier hearing in January, his attorney said Flynn denied the charges.
The 38-year-old, whose address was given as Berlin in Germany, did not attend that hearing at Glasgow High Court due to coronavirus travel restrictions.
Statement
In a statement, his lawyer Aamer Anwar said: ‘I can confirm that this morning we were informed that Sean Flynn, 37, who did not appear for the murder of his mother, Louise Tiffney, 19 years ago, was according to the Police found dead in Spain, after taking his own life.
He added: “Until recently, Mr. Flynn had resided in Berlin.
“Any loss of life is a tragedy, Sean Flynn’s family has been informed and there will be no further comment.”
Flynn had also been accused of attempting to defeat the purposes of justice by putting his mother’s body in the trunk of a car, driving into a wooded area, and disposing of it.

The judges overturned the previous verdict and authorized a new prosecution.
A spokesman for the Crown Office and the Attorney General’s Fiscal Service (COPFS) said: “The COPFS is aware of the reports on the death of Sean Flynn and is awaiting official confirmation from the Spanish authorities.”
Investigation
Ms Tiffney’s remains were found by a cyclist near the entrance to Gosford House, in Longniddry, East Lothian, in 2017.
At the time, police said Flynn “had no interest” in the investigation into the murder of his mother.
