A mum has divided the internet after sharing her unusual way of keeping her stovetop clean for a week without having to scrub it.
The Australian woman, called Patricia, puts a sheet of aluminium foil underneath the burner caps and grate of her stovetop, so she can cook on the hob without having to wipe up any mess from her cooking.
‘This is how I keep it for one week. So I don’t have to clean every day,’ Patricia posted on Facebook.

While some praised her ingenuity, others were far from impressed with the unusual technique and slammed the woman as ‘lazy’.
‘Yeah great, so it always looks ugly. It’s the same deal when people keep plastic covers on their sofas,’ one woman posted.
Another added: ‘Why not just wash it after every use? Do you lay sheets on the floors as to avoid vacuuming and mopping?’
Some said looking at that ‘seven days a week would kill my soul’, while others argued that the al foil would be going ‘straight to landfill’.
‘Imagine being that lazy, do you Gladwrap your plates too so you don’t have to wash them?’ one person added.

While many slammed Patricia’s idea, there were others who were inspired by her to do the same thing.
‘I do the same! Don’t listen to captain planets. Do whatever you need to do to get through,’ one woman posted.
‘If it works for you, don’t worry about what everyone else thinks,’ added another.

To make the homemade concoction she combined water, vinegar and dish soap in a spray bottle to apply onto the surface of the appliance.
She then made the cleaning spray, applied it onto the stove top then left it to sit for 30 minutes.
Once half an hour had passed, she scrubbed the stainless-steel surface with a soft sponge followed by a microfibre cloth to polish.
The burners and stove were both left looking sparkling clean as if the stovetop was brand new.
