David Moyes was impressed with the way his side defended in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the London Stadium.

The Hammers had a nightmare start to the game with Brennan Johnson giving the visitors the lead in the fifth minute.

However, they hit back through Kurt Zouma and ultimately had chances to win the game.

‘Tottenham did a lot of good things. They scored early and put us under pressure. But we came back, we were resilient, tough defensively.

‘We had to be which we maybe missed a bit at the weekend. We looked a threat up until the last minute. There was a couple of things that fell to us and you hope one of them might have gone in.

‘I would hope all my teams would have that mentality throughout my career,’ Moyes added. ‘I’ve tried to instil that ruggedness, fighting spirit.

‘I think the boys showed lots of that and I think they wanted to try and show it. Sometimes you can show it and it doesn’t work.’
