Sometimes, finding the right person to be your forever-after partner can be a daunting experience. However, some are lucky enough to find a relationship that leads to marriage.

A woman who responded to a subreddit shared her story. She revealed that two months into her relationship with her new man, they had started randomly visiting each other’s apartments. One time, he came over, and sadly, she had a urinary tract infection (UTI) and was stuck on the toilet.

She felt like she had to urinate all day and couldn’t leave the bathroom. The woman was embarrassed as she explained her situation to her boyfriend through the bathroom door, and his response was, “No problem, hold on a minute.”

He closed his eyes and slowly opened the door, holding a stool in one hand and a laptop in the other. The woman’s boyfriend then placed the computer on the sink opposite her, and the stool went into the shower, which was separated from the toilet by a closet.

He placed things so that they could both see the laptop but couldn’t see each other. The boyfriend sat down on the stool and they watched “Happy Feet” together while she remained on the toilet. She nearly cried when she realized he was “the one” for her.

A married woman shared her own story of how she knew he was the one while they still dated. “He was kind to a homeless man. Knew his name, and the man knew his,” she recalled.

Back to the present, the married woman shared they had gone out to dinner on a Friday night, with the twentieth wedding anniversary the following week. On their way back home after dinner, while stationary at a red light, they saw a homeless man.

The man, frequently present at that intersection, began dancing before flashing the peace sign to the original poster (OP) and her boyfriend. The woman’s partner responded by rolling down his window and handing over his to-go box.

The box contained an untouched burger, which her boyfriend had looked forward to eating later. The homeless man knew OP’s boyfriend by name, and he also knew the man’s name. “I thought, twenty years later: Perfect. He is still perfect,” she mused.

OP realized their partner was the one during their first road trip as a couple. The pair stopped to get food at one point, and OP ordered several cheeseburgers. OP was driving and was surprised how his partner unwrapped and handed him one of the burgers without being asked, with the Redditor adding:

“As soon as one was done, she had another one ready.”

At that moment, OP realized that some people are genuinely kind and considerate. They hilariously noted that it was also the first time their partner used an expletive to describe someone!

A woman revealed on Reddit that she didn’t grow up with the best example of love as a child because her parents fought a lot and weren’t “lovey-dovey.” However, at 16, she met her biological father, and he set the standard for what love should be like.

She had one recollection of her sitting on his back patio with him and his wife. The couple were holding hands and enjoying the evening when he suddenly turned to his wife and asked her, “Have I told you I love you today?” Her response was, “No, I don’t think so.”

OP’s father then replied, “Oh, I will. By the end of the day, I’ll let you know.” The Redditor found the act so simple but yet so cute at the same time. Her father later explained that his statement was a twist on a movie quote he’d always liked.

OP noted how he and his wife did such little things a lot, and she knew then that she wanted someone who’d treat her the same way. One day, she was sitting with her then-boyfriend relaxing and watching a movie when he asked:

“Have I told you how much I love you today?”

OP smiled and had tears in her eyes when she replied, “No, not yet.” Her emotional reaction confused him at first until she explained. She knew right then that she’d found what she was looking for.

OP noted how he was trying to impress a woman he liked when everything went wrong that evening. The pair went on an expensive Italian dinner date when OP realized he’d forgotten his wallet. He was mortified and embarrassed even further when he lost his car in the parking garage and just wanted to cut his losses and go home.

OP forgot where he parked because of how flustered he was from things going wrong. They spent around 20 minutes running around the parking garage hand in hand from one level to the next. He felt her glare and annoyance on the back of his neck and thought it was growing.

OP believed his partner was quietly thinking about how that had been the worst date she’d ever been on. The humiliation finally overwhelmed OP, and he stopped and turned around, perhaps planning to apologize profusely. He prepared himself for the look of disappointment on her face, but he was surprised cause she was smiling.

She then started laughing, not at him, but with him, even though he wasn’t laughing. It seemed as if she was inviting him to laugh at his bad luck. Relief washed over him, and they stood on level 2 of the Newport on the Levee parking garage just laughing, with him noting:

Now six years later, they are married with two children. On their wedding day, they gave their written vows. Unknowingly, they’d both written how that night in Newport was the exact moment they knew they were made for one another.

OP’s boyfriend also went to get her purse near the nest where she’d dropped it.

Despite having fallen in love before, how he felt with his wife made him feel like he never wished to fall in love again. In an edit, OP revealed that they found his car hidden between two SUVs that night.

The following Reddit user revealed that her partner first met her family during a trip to a lake house. While walking the dog in the yard, OP unknowingly walked into a vast bee nest on the ground. The bees got into her bathing suit and in the dog’s fur, causing her and the pet to run screaming to the house covered in the insects.

Dozens of bees followed her into the house, and her boyfriend responded by ripping the bees off the dog’s fur. He also helped his future mother-in-law kill the stray bees while OP ran around screaming and ripping off her clothes.

OP’s boyfriend also went to get her purse near the nest where she’d dropped it. It had so many bees on it that the bag’s material was barely visible. The moment was terrifying for OP, but she recalled being shocked that someone she hadn’t been dating for long cared enough to battle bees for her.
