A RETIRED teacher was found decapitated with her head on a table at a resort in the South of France as cops launch a murder probe.
The 77-year-old woman’s body was found on Wednesday night after her son raised the alarm when he was unable to contact her, the public prosecutor’s office said.

The retired teacher’s head was reportedly found on a table next to her body at the house in historic town of Agde.
There was no sign of a break-in at the property, the outside gate was closed and the front door of the house unlocked, police said.
French authorities have arrested a suspect, prosecutors said.
“It is a 51-year-old man who knew the victim,” prosecutor Raphael Balland told AFP.
Her son had said he was able to connect to the house via video link and he had seen a shadow on the ground.
Authorities said they have so far ruled out terrorism and the incident has not been referred to anti-terror prosecutors.
According to local reports, the woman had been living alone following the death of her husband, and she was a mother to two adult children.
Located on the River Hérault, around four kilometres from the Mediterranean Sea and 750 kilometres from Paris, Agde is one of the oldest towns in France and has a population of around 30,000.
The picturesque seaside resort town is a popular destination for tourists, and has a thriving nudist scene.
