Manchester United have reportedly made a huge call over Mason Greenwood’s future following talks with loan club Getafe.
Getafe have been eager to tie Greenwood down to another loan after his haul of eight goals and five assists.
The forward, 22, was charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour in October 2022, but the charges and case were dropped in February 2023 when key witnesses withdrew.
After sitting down with Getafe, United bosses have made a call on whether they will loan him to the club again, according to The Sun.
Manchester United have reportedly made a decision on Mason Greenwood’s transfer situation
The Red Devils do not want to send him out on loan again – as Getafe desire – as per The Sun
The answer?
A resounding no.
The Red Devils do not want to let him leave temporarily again and are only focused on securing a permanent deal of around £34million.
There is also the possibility of him returning to Old Trafford.
New part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe last month left the door open to Greenwood returning – despite the club’s previous indication that he would not play for them again.
He said: ‘It’s a fresh decision. I can talk about the principle. I am not going to talk about Mason. I am familiar with it. The principle is the important one. We will have other issues going forwards.
‘You are dealing with young people who have not always been brought up in the best circumstances, who have a lot of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.
‘What we need to do when have issues like that is understand real affects not the hype then we need to make a fair decision in the light of the club’s values. That’s what we need to do and that’s how we will deal with it.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to do battle for Greenwood in the summer
‘We need to look at facts, judge fairly and take into consideration what the values of the club are. Then we come out of that with a decision. It is not appropriate for me to comment on Mason Greenwood.’
Greenwood reportedly has ‘no great desire’ to return to United.
According to The Athletic, Greenwood has heard Ratcliffe’s claims but remains ‘reluctant to accept a return’ and feels the club ‘could have supported him better’ over his case.
The outlet go on to claim that the 22-year-old ‘has no great desire’ to play for Man United again and recognises the scrutiny he could receive if he returned.
