‘GMA’ Anchor George Stephanopoulos’ Daughter Wore Scoliosis Braces Underwent Surgery – She Is Stunning at 21

George Stephanopoulos has been married to Alexandra Wentworth since 2001. The couple is blessed with two daughters, Elliott Anastasia and Harper Andrea. Wentworth and Stephanopoulos first crossed paths on April 6, 2001.

They met on a blind date arranged by Holly Peterson. Peterson, a longtime friend of Wentworth since nursery school, orchestrated the meeting to encourage Wentworth to move back East from Los Angeles.

During their first date, Stephanopoulos recalled that for the first 15 minutes, they were on autopilot. However, 15 minutes into their date, Wentworth leaned in and said something to him, which suddenly took them to another place, a different universe, instantly.

Once the pair’s conversation hit off, Stephanopoulos forgot to eat his lunch. The media personality also knew within two hours of their date that he would never dare risk losing Wentworth. “We went from strangers to friends to being in love in days,” said Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos and Alexandra Wentworth got married on November 20, 2001, at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City. The “Good Morning America” (GMA) anchor is now a proud dad of two. On January 29, 2020, he shared a gorgeous picture of his daughters, captioning it “Nothing better than being a #girldad.”

In 2016, Wentworth revealed how Stephanopoulos was fairing in a house full of girls. She said their daughters keep the anchor humble. “For some reason, he gets beat up constantly. He is always wrong. He is an idiot. He is a loser, but in a loving way,” she confessed.

Stephanopoulos could go out and win a Peabody award, but his daughters would still clown him for his attire, nerdiness, and the fact that he didn’t go to prom because he had chess club.

However, the couple is always a united front when it comes to their kids. When Elliott Anastasia was about to undergo surgery as a teenager in 2022, Wentworth and Stephanopoulos became a solid couple together to help her get through the tough period.

Wentworth’s first-born daughter has scoliosis, so she wears braces each day. On National Scoliosis Month in June 2017, the anchor shared cute pictures of Anastasia, writing, “So proud of my daughter Elliott. Wearing brace every day.”

A proud Stephanopoulos also posed with his daughter when she went to prom in June 2021. Before prom night, Wentworth revealed on air that she told Anastasia her dress had to be less than $100. The two went shopping in various department stores to find the perfect dress. Anastasia was also going to have a makeup person.

As Stephanopoulos didn’t attend prom, and Wentworth, being in an all-girls high school, had no prom experience, Anastasia’s prom marked a significant milestone as the first in the family. “It’s a big deal,” said Wentworth.

Anastasia looked stunning in a black dress with a thigh-high slit and a deep-V cut. Her black hair was laid back, and she styled her look with silver heels and a flower in her hands.

Fans of Wentworth, who shared the picture on her Instagram, said Anastasia looked “so so CHIC” and was a “beautiful girl!” More fans pointed out how stunning the teenager was, with others saying, “Simply gorgeous!”

When Anastasia graduated from high school in May 2021, Wentworth celebrated her on Instagram by sharing a beautiful photo of her daughter in a blue gown. She also wrote, “Biggest triumph is I made a human smarter, more empathetic, more enlightened, more insightful, and not to mention more beautiful inside and out…congratulations Elliott Stephanopoulos.”

Wentworth commended Anastasia for graduating high school and said her daughter and the class of 2021 were about to conquer the world.

Anastasia pursued further studies as, on September 2, 2021, her mom shared a picture of herself eating a burger in a car. She wrote, “I just dropped my eldest daughter at college. A milestone, Very emotional.”

Harper Andrea also left for college in August 2023. Wentworth wasn’t ready to let go of her youngest daughter as much as Andrea was prepared to leave home. She noted that she would miss doing various things now that her girls had all left home, including cuddling to their familiar scent.

An emotional Wentworth added, “I know our daughter will thrive. But man, it’s brutal on the parents. If you feel inclined- please send me baked goods. I’ll be under my covers.” She shared these words alongside a picture of her and Stephanopoulos holding hands as they walked. The pair are now empty-nesters.

Wentworth and Stephanopoulos’s girls are now all grown. Their mom admitted that they grew up so fast. She shared that when Anastasia was born, she was so sleep-deprived and in pain from regular breastfeeding that she didn’t believe people who said her child would grow up fast.

Now, Anastasia is in her early 20s, having turned 21 on September 9, 2023. On her 21st birthday, her mom shared a magnificent photo of a grown Anastasia and jotted down, “I love this incredible, fearless, brilliant, beautiful woman. And I wish I could stick her back in the stroller for just one more day.” Andrea, who was born on June 2, 2005, is 18.

Wentworth and George Stephanopoulos’s daughters are gorgeous in their adulthood. The parents, who connected so fast when they first met, have raised successful and brilliant girls. The two are also still married, enjoying their love and life together.
