Former NFL runningback and Republican nominee for Georgia’s Senate Herschel Walker, has recently been accused of fathering undisclosed children and paying for a woman’s abortion. Why is this a problem? Well, Republicans are famous for pushing their anti-abortion agenda and Walker is one of their elected leaders.
The irony in the entire story has even forced satire comedians to approach Walker and taunt him during a campaign rally. Such is the case of comedian Jason Selvig, who just attended one of Herschel Walker’s campaign speeches and jumped on stage to do a comedy skit. It was a daring and risky joke that could’ve gone terribly wrong for him. Fortunately, Selvig was completely unharmed during the tense moment on stage.
What did Jason Selvig do to Herschel Walker?
Jason Selvig is part of ‘The Good Liars‘, a leftist satirical comedy group that often goes on campaign rallies to provoke Conservative Republicans. Given that they live in the Unitd States and freedom of speech is protected, they can do skits like the one Selvig just did on Walker. The entire moment was cringe worthy and it became extremely tense at a certain moment. Walker sure looked quite unamused by the joke.
As Herschel Walker was about to strt greeting people right after giving a speech, Selvig jumped on stage with something in his hands. The Recount tweeted the entire exchange but used subtitles with funny remarks due to all the ambient noise. As it turned out, Selvig had two large rolls of condoms he wanted Walker to take with him home. The Georgia Senate candidate staarted a heated exchange with Selvig but things didn’t escalate much further than that.
As soon as the security detail realized something was off, they approached Selvig and blocked his access to Walker. But what probably hurt Herschel Walker the most was the picture Selvig took and the caption he wrote on Twitter. Here’s what he said: “A Herschel Walker rally can be scary. Luckily I brought protection.” As part of the skit, The Good Liars also handed Herschel Walker toy sheriff badges.
