Rachel Zegler was seen in New York City looking serious this week after her recent movie, Snow White, performed poorly at the box office.
The 23-year-old actress, who has been criticized for her strong political views affecting the film’s success, was photographed walking her dog named Lenny, a goldendoodle.
In her outing, Rachel, who portrayed the lead role in the controversial ‘woke’ movie, wore a large denim jacket, a blue shirt, loose grey sweatpants, Adidas sneakers, showing no signs of being affected by the film’s underwhelming reception.
Her long dark hair was pushed back with a wide black headband, and she appeared to go makeup-free for the outing, sporting what looked to be a green star-shaped pimple patch on her forehead.Â
Disney is set to post a $115million loss on the Snow White remake after it faced an online ‘review-bombing’ campaign and threats from both fans of Zegler and her co-star Gal Gadot to boycott the film over their diverging political views.
The studio spent a reported $270million on the film before marketing and distribution – but it has so far failed to break even.Â
Its performance has been so disastrous that the House of Mouse has even hit pause on the production of a live-action remake of 2010 Rapunzel retelling Tangled as it re-evaluates its current strategy.Â
Critical reviews of Snow White were mixed to start – with reviewers finding fault with the CGI dwarves and the modern updates to the plot that changed Snow White from a fawning princess-to-be into a feminist leader-in-waiting.Â

Rachel Zegler, 23, looked somber as she was pictured out in New York City this week, following the humiliating box office performance of her latest film, Snow White
But behind the scenes, Zegler and co-star Gadot reportedly had a falling out after shooting wrapped – potentially over their differing views on Israel.
Gadot is a former IDF instructor and proud Israeli – while Zegler stoked controversy by tweeting ‘free Palestine’ in a series of posts made 24 hours after the first trailer for Snow White debuted last summer.
Reports in Variety suggested the film’s producer Marc Platt flew from Los Angeles to New York to ask Zegler to be mindful of her social media use – after which she wrote ‘f*** Donald Trump’ on Instagram following his election win.Â
She then reportedly agreed to allow a social media professional to vet her posts before she put them up.Â
Subsequent activities have included a series of behind-the-scenes pictures taken on the Snow White set, posted to her Instagram. Gadot does not feature in any of the images.Â

Disney’s Snow White has been suffering a number of embarrassing setbacks, with a new report claiming it will lose a staggering amount at the box office.
The film reportedly had a whopping production budget between $240 million and $270 million, not counting the hundreds of millions poured into publicity and advertising.
Snow White opened with a disappointing $42.2 million at the domestic box office last weekend, and then it dropped a whopping 66% drop in its second weekend.
It’s currently taken in $77 million at the domestic box office after two weekends and $168.6 million worldwide.
This live-action rendition of the original 1937 animated classic hasn’t been a hit with critics either, with just a 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
A recent report from Deadline claims that Disney will likely suffer a big $115 million loss from the film, when all is said and done.
Amid the film’s many controversies Rachel was criticized for her political views after tweeting ‘free Palestine’ with claims the studio ‘didn’t know what to do’ with the outspoken actress.Â

It comes after Rachel’s former West Side Story co-star Ariana DeBose made an embarrassing backtrack after inadvertently trashing her amid the movie’s release.
DeBose shared a direct quote from Jonah Platt, 38, the son of Snow White producer Marc Platt, 67, in which he seemingly blamed the film’s failure on Zegler.
Her post, shared on a colorful rose backdrop to her Instagram account, read: ‘Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged.’
The message has since been deleted, with DeBose swiftly erasing it from her timeline and insisting she was unaware it was about Zegler, 34, in a follow-up post.
An apology to Zegler was absent from her clarification.
‘I post quotes all the time and thought this one was meaningful. Will fully cop to the fact I did not do any research on where this quote came from, nor did I know of the connection until it was pointed out to me,’ DeBose, 34, wrote on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.
‘I have no intention of inserting myself into a news cycle. This is not the first time I’ve posted about narcissism and it probably won’t be the last, but next time I’ll be sure to clarify it’s origins first.’
DeBose and Zegler were rumored to have had a falling out towards the latter end of West Side Story’s 2022 awards season campaign.

DeBose directly quoted Snow White producer Marc Platt’s nepo baby son Jonah, who recently slammed ‘narcissistic’ Zegler in an now-deleted tirade, however she has now insisted she was unaware the message was about Zegler
While it’s unclear what or if any drama occurred between them, Zegler failed to publicly congratulate DeBose, who she’d previously shown fondness for, on her historic Best Supporting Actress win at that year’s Oscars.
And producer Marc Platt’s son Jonah shocked fans last week when he unleashed his fury on Zegler, seemingly blaming her for the film flopping.
Jonah, who is Marc’s eldest child, took to Instagram in a now-deleted post to brand Zegler as ‘immature’ and insinuate she has ‘narcissistic’ tendencies.
He did so in response to a fan comment, which referenced an article published by Variety that claimed Marc had flown to New York to speak to Zegler about her controversial pro-Palestine social media posts.
The fan comment read: ‘Your dad flew to NYC to reprimand a young actress? Any words on this? Cuz that’s creepy as hell and uncalled for. People have the right to free speech no? Shame on your father.’
Jonah, whose younger brother Ben Platt, 31, is an award-winning actor/singer, shot back with an angry rant which began: ‘You really want to do this?’
‘Yeah, my dad, the producer of the enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20-year-old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicly for.’

The host of the Being Jewish Podcast continued, saying her actions ‘clearly’ hurt the film’s box office.
‘Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions,’ he continued.
‘Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful.’
‘Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged,’ Jonah concluded his explosive rant.
