In Polk County, Florida, a man has been detained following a road rage incident that transpired on March 30 at a Publix supermarket parking lot in another county.
Jesus Manuel Perez, as per the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, faces charges of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and firing a gun in a public setting.
Reportedly, Perez aggressively beeped his horn at the victim after a traffic light turned green, attempting to pass him but getting obstructed by other vehicles. Subsequently, the victim drove into a Publix parking area with Perez tailing behind.
Once in the parking lot, Perez blocked the victim’s vehicle and exited his own car before opening fire. The victim fired back, and Perez fled.
Perez is being held without bail in the Polk County Jail.

Jail records show that along with the violent crime charges, Perez was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia container, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of phencyclidine (PCP) and keeping a public nuisance for drug use.
