Woman furious after paying $20 for ‘hot mess’ holiday market – she had to wait for an hour & then they ‘ran out of food’

A WOMAN has been left furious after her disappointing experience at a popular holiday market.

The Los Angeles Christmas Market tickets are priced at $20. A dissatisfied visitor felt that the experience fell short due to long lines and food vendors running out of food.

TikTok user @frolicsandfoods posts reviews of food and experiences typically on the West Coast to her 150 followers.

This visitor shared her candid feedback on November 30 after attending the market located at the Row DTLA shopping mall in downtown Los Angeles.

“I went to the LA Christmas market so you don’t have to,” the TikToker started the video, which has now amassed over 242,000 views and 11,000 likes.

“It was a hot mess,” she slammed.

However, she added that she went on the first night that the market opened – “so maybe things will improve.”

The market, open all through December, offers various attractions including igloos, food vendors, bars, shops, and holiday-themed events such as ornament decorating, as described on its website.

After buying the $20 tickets online, the TikTok user waited an hour to get into the market after it was supposed to open at 4 pm.

“There were some igloo experiences, which no one was using because apparently they weren’t working,” she said.

She also bashed the shopping as “lackluster” and that the items for sale looked like they were from a wholesale retailer.

“They had the classic Christmas market foods available, which was great,” she began.

“But they started running out of things within two hours after opening.”

The TikTok user said she waited 30 minutes for a cider and got a refund for it due to the long line.

However, the experience wasn’t completely a bust.

“On the bright side, it was a dog-friendly market and it was super cute seeing all the dogs,” the TikTok user said.

Los Angeles Christmas Market details

The Los Angeles Christmas Market lasts from November 29 until Christmas Eve.

The marketplace at Skylight at the Row DTLA is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays every week.

The Los Angeles Christmas Market is open from 4 pm to 10 pm every day, but will be open from noon to 5 pm on Christmas Eve.

Tickets are $20 for weekdays and $27 for weekends and have to be purchased online.

You can buy your tickets on Eventbrite.

She also noted, “There were plenty of lights for your Instagram photos.”

TikTok users shared the reviewer’s disappointment in the 420 comments on the post.

“I went too…100% agree. Very disappointing,” one response slammed.

“Waited over an hour for pasta and there was literally nothing at the booths worth buying.”

“I went on the first day too and agree with you,” another wrote.

“The food stalls weren’t even ready when we got there. We waited in line longer at the entrance than we stayed at the actual market. Not worth it.”

“Insane that you have to pay money to go to these. I’ve NEVER seen a paid Christmas market anywhere else in the world,” a third wrote.

Another warned, “Save your money. Waited an hour to get in, then told the igloos were having electrical issues.

“No mulled wine or spiked eggnog available. Vendors, meh. Total disappointment.”

The market hasn’t responded to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
