Ryan Garcia has been looking for an in-ring bout with Gervonta Davis, but before that happens, the Mexican-American fighter came very close to coming to blows with the American boxer, only the scenario was not a ring, but a nightclub.

King Garcia used social networks to denounce the event

Ryan Garcia made an Instagram Live transmission where he confessed to his thousands of followers the dangerous encounter with Tank Davis. Garcia said he approached with a friend who was accompanying him to ask the American when they were going to get in the ring.

“I guess that offended him,” Garcia said of Davis. “I got all flustered.” Garcia noted that Tank grabbed his chain … but fortunately, the star fighter claims to have kept his cool. “There are so many security guards there,” Garcia said. “I knew he wasn’t going to grab my chain or really do anything. I just wanted to look tough.”

The latin boxer continued his narrative of the moment. “Outside the ring, you can act tough all you want,” Garcia said. “Inside the ring, everything changes. I’m not acting tough. I’m tough only when I need to be.”

Gervonta Davis’ response

The look on Ryan’s face as he retold the story seemed choked with emotion, and some boxing fans felt he was on the verge of tears.

You could tell that Ryan was very upset that Tank had grabbed his chain. It’s unclear why Ryan didn’t escalate things at that point, as, under the circumstances, it would make sense if he had. It’s hard to know what kind of reaction he expected from Tank Davis when he found him at the club.

Given the bad blood between them, it would be foolhardy of Ryan to expect Gervonta to welcome him with open arms. With all that Ryan had been saying about Tank in the media, it’s a surprise that all he did was grab his chain. It could have been so much worse.
