Cooper Rush took the Dallas Cowboys after Dak Prescott’s injury during the first game of the NFL season against Tampa Bay.
Rush was the starting QB of the Cowboys, he was undefeated after the Philadelphia Eagles exhibited Dallas’s weak points on Week 6 Sunday Night Football.
The Cowboys survived three games against the LA Rams, the Washington Commanders, the New York Giants, and the Cincinnati Bengals because of their impeccable defense.
However, most NFL analysts knew Cooper Rush’s lucky strike would end when facing the Eagles.
The end of the Cowboys-Cooper Rush positive streak
“The Cowboys have been winning games by playing great defense and getting mistake-free football from Rush, but both of those things went out the window during the first half in Philadelphia,” said CBS NFL analyst John Breech.
During the first five games of the 2022 season, the Cowboys allowed less than 20 points in all their games. Nevertheless, their offense averages 18 points per game.
No team can aspire to the playoffs by scoring less than 20 points in the vast majority of their duels.
In the first half against the Eagles, the Cowboys conceded 20 points, trashing their defensive record. While Philadelphia lead the score at halftime, Dallas scored 3 points in the first two quarters.
Cooper Rush threw three interceptions against the Eagles in the first half.
Dak Prescott’s return
“The Cowboys have already proved they can win with Rush, but they haven’t proved they can win with him when they have to play from behind,” Breech mentioned.
Cooper Rush had a good run with the Cowboys, winning four out of five games while Prescott was out. Nevertheless, the Cowboys will have better odds with Prescott in command.
Rush was a good game manager but failed to keep the Cowboys on the game while trailing the game.
