Tom Brady’s mounting marital issues with Gisele Bündchen are clearly affecting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ star quarterback. In any walk of life, a person who is getting mentally or emotionally affected by personal issues is entitled to take a break from their work life. During the most recent Pro Football Talk show on NBC, former QB Chris Simms aluded to that when they asked him about Tom Brady’s situation.

During the show with Mike Florio, the host asked Simms which quarterback is more likely to drop everything mid-season and retire. The options given were two veterans, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady. In a different scenario, Simms would’ve definitely picked Rodgers as the obvious choice.

Gisele Bundchen is spotted in Miami after hiring divorce lawyers

Ever since the pandemic started, social pressure has been mounting on Aaron Rodgers due to his controversial political views. But the recent situation with Brady and Gisele has made Simms rethink his answer. This is what he said: “Normally I’d feel like it’s Rodgers that would be that guy. But because of this year and some of the off-the-field stuff that’s hitting home and personal stuff with Brady, this is the one year I feel maybe it might be Brady.

“It seems like, and I don’t know this, that his wife is threatening divorce or going down that road by all due accounts of what you read. I think Rodgers is usually the guy to be more renegade and be like ‘screw this, I’m out of here.’ But this is a weird year where we’re seeing Brady do weird crap and having personal issues.”

Would Tom Brady leave the Buccaneers hanging?

Simply by looking at the way Tom Brady has been expressing himself about football in recent days, could give you an idea of how he feels about retirement now. However, dropping everything mid-season would only happen if he truly felt there was a way to save the broken marriage with Gisele Bündchen. Multiple reports already suggest the couple is past threshold that could save their relationship. It is unlikely Brady leaves the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hanging like that.
