The normal low-key lives of the Geldof sisters as they shun the spotlight following tragic past and how the family really survived the deaths of their mother Paula Yates and sister Peaches

Last weekend, pregnant Tiger Lily Hutchence ‘secretly tied the knot with her boyfriend of two years Ben Archer’.

The pair kept the ceremony low-key and out of the limelight, as the Geldof siblings have become known for.

As part of one of Britain’s most famous families, they once lived their lives in the spotlight.

Yet when tragedy struck the clan in the Noughties, the trajectories of the famous brood missiled in a very different direction.

The family were left in mourning in 2000 when matriarch Paula Yates tragically died aged 41 after a heroin overdose.

The presenter and Bob Geldof had three children together, daughters Fifi, Pixie, and Peaches, before divorcing in 1996. He later married Jeanne Marine in 2015, with the actress helping him raise his children following Paula’s death.

Following her death, the Boomtown Rats star also adopted Paula’s daughter Tiger Lily, whom she shared with the late Michael Hutchence.

Bob became Tiger’s legal guardian and officially adopted her in 2007, determined to raise her far from the showbusiness spotlight.

Yet the family were thrust back into the media glare in 2014 when history repeated itself and Peaches also died of a heroin overdose at 25 years old, a tragedy mirroring her mother’s demise.

Despite having experienced very public losses, away from the spotlight the family live normal lives with their respective husbands and children.

Bob has credited his second wife Jeanne with helping him to raise his daughters and previously said his children ‘wouldn’t have survived’ without her.

The musician even proposed to Jeanne days after Peaches’ death in a moment he said ‘brought air into the room’ when Fifi and Pixie were ‘in agony’.

After Bob became Tiger Lily’s legal guardian, it was also Jeanne’s influence which helped support the then four-year old through the difficult period.

Gerry Agar previously told DailyMail: ‘Tiger was totally raised and totally loved by Bob’s wife Jeanne, so she has such stability.

‘They have been very strict with her and Tiger is incredibly unlike Peaches. She wants to please them.’

Last weekend, the singer, 28, who is expecting her first child with Ben, reportedly said ‘I Do’ in an intimate ceremony of 30 guests in in East London.

According to The Sun, the couple – who met in 2023 – were ‘keen to marry’ ahead of the birth of their first child.

The newlyweds reportedly hired out a restaurant on Columbia Road and invited their closest family and friends.

A source said: ‘Tiger Lily and Ben had a very chic, very low-key wedding on Saturday. They hired out a restaurant on Columbia Road for about 30 guests.

‘Tiger Lily’s sisters, Pixie and Fifi, were there, as well as Bob. The guest list was very rock ‘n’ roll, with Tiger Lily’s godfather, Nick Cave, invited, too.

‘Tiger Lily and Ben are so happy together and this ceremony was just for their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful day and, after the service, they all sat down to have a meal together.’

Tiger Lily’s husband revealed the news of her pregnancy last month when he shared an art flyer on Instagram which showed her showing off a large baby bump.

‘My love @heavenlytiger is doing a show,’ he commented.

Tiger then confirmed the exciting news by responding with a hatching chicken emoji.

‘Wahooo love you,’ she wrote alongside the post.

Tiger is the final of Bob’s children to get married after Pixie, 34, and Fifi, 42, headed down the aisle in 2017 and 2016 respectively.

Pixie has been married to These New Puritans drummer George Barnett since 2017, when the couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in Majorca.

Close friends Alexa and Daisy Lowe were bridesmaids, with guests including Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles and Nick Grimshaw.

The couple share one daughter who was born in August 2021, however the parents keep her out of the public eye and have never disclosed her name.

Pixie has made a career for herself in modelling after she first graced the cover of Tatler back in 2008.

She has also dabbled in the music industry as the lead singer of the band Violet before releasing her own record I’m Yours in November 2016.

While she keeps her family life private, the couple are often spotted at events together and most recently put on a stylish display at Milan Fashion Week in February.

Meanwhile Fifi, who avoids the public eye completely and works in PR, married her husband Andrew Robertson in 2016.

The pair tied the knot at  St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence church in Kent, which is the Church where her mother and Peaches are buried.

She decided not to have Pixie and Tiger Lily as bridesmaids, as it didn’t right to have her sisters by her side without Peaches too.

Fifi has referred to herself as the ‘unknown Geldof’ after she made the active decision to shut out the limelight that has dazzled the rest of her family.

She previously said she is just a ‘normal’ girl with a ‘normal’ depression, who has to go out to work like anyone else.

‘I need to do my job,’ she told the Daily Mail back in 2014. ‘There is no gilded lily. Dad was brought up to earn his own money and he’s instilled that in us.

‘I don’t want to be some spoilt little daddy’s princess. I’m very lucky to be mortgage-free at 31, but I bought my own flat. Dad is there for me financially if I need it.

‘I get a birthday cheque from him every year but other than that I don’t get anything.’

Fifi has also battled a lifelong struggle with clinical depression which stemmed from her parents’ bitter divorce when she was just 11-years-old.

She explained: ‘I woke up crying about everything and nothing. I remember thinking what the f*** is going on in my head. Why do I feel like this.

‘I felt very confused as to what was going on in my mind. I thought I was going crazy. I was a generally happy child and all of a sudden I wasn’t and I didn’t know why.

‘It’s confusing and it makes you feel quite lost within yourself. It wasn’t a slow and gentle descent into depression.

‘Something totally switches in your mind. I’m still trying to work out what’s wrong with me now.’

She added: ‘Depression is nothing to be ashamed of, it affects an awful amount of people and yet there is still this ugly, shaming, misunderstood stigma around it.

‘With depression you can have everything in the world and nothing. It affects people of all walks of life.

‘When it takes hold for a couple of days it wipes you out. There have been occasions where I have been unable to get out of bed, unable to shower and to eat. You exist in this gloomy shell of a person. But you learn how to deal with it.’

Following the death of her mother in September 2000, Fifi drank to excess and dabbled in drugs before comfort eating propelled her to a dress size 20. Suicidal thoughts followed.

She added: ‘I have thought about but never attempted suicide. I wouldn’t. I’m aware, even in the pit of my depression, there are people that would hurt.

‘And quite frankly there’s been enough death in our family. It’s not something I would do to them.’

Yet Fifi doesn’t blame her depression on Peaches’ death as she added: ‘I’m not going to link depression back to Peaches.

‘I can’t, in all honesty, attribute my sadness about my sister’s death to depression. I think that’s a natural reaction to losing a family member.’

Admitting she would open up about her depression with the star she added:  ‘Peaches’ death is like a piece of me that has been taken. A piece of my heart and my soul has gone.

‘She was my baby sister. She will always be my baby sister. Often I’ll sit and have a chat with her, tell her what went on that day. I go to our local church and light a candle for her.’
