Trump unleashes massive 27,000lb ‘Bunker Buster’ bombs on Houthis from B-2 stealth bombers in chilling warning to Iran

DONALD Trump has unleashed gargantuan 27,000 “Bunker Buster” bombs on Houthi rebels from B-2 stealth bombers in the latest warning to Iran.

Recently, there were casualties in possible US airstrikes on a faction in Yemen’s capital following a strong warning from the US president to restore calm to the area.

Fox News has disclosed that B-2 bombers stationed at Diego Garcia are utilizing powerful GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs) to target Houthis taking cover below the ground.

The MOP is a “bunker busting” explosive and the largest non-nuclear bomb which the US chillingly has at its disposal.

This formidable weapon is known for its unique capabilities and rare availability, serving as a significant threat to Iran amid ongoing struggles to reach a nuclear agreement between the two nations.

The Don has previously blasted Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s regime – threatening “great danger” if they didn’t reach a new agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme.

The 15-tonne bomb, developed in 2004, is designed to specifically obliterate the deepest of underground facilities.

Due to the MOP’s hulking weight, they can only be carried by B-2 bombers.

The bomb is designed specifically to neutralise deeply buried and fortified targets, and, through its use, the US predictably look to decimate the group’s hidden infrastructure.

These sites belonging to the Houthis could include missile storage, launch facilities, and command and control centres that could be tunnelled into Iran’s mountain landscape.

Trump employing MOPs to strike the group sends a very strong reminder to Iran that the US has the capabilities to destroy fortified sites with advanced weaponry – and isn’t afraid to.

Meanwhile the B-2 bombers have the ability obliterate targets with their huge 25 tonne bomb payload per jet.

A mere few days ago, least six people were killed in suspected US airstrikes on the Houthis in Yemen’s capital.

Houthis vow to strike ANY US ships as Trump begins ‘unrelenting’ barrage

Trump issued a fiery threat to the Iran-backed terror group on Sunday and warned them it was “time to hide”.

The Houthis separately claimed that they shot down an American drone over Yemen on Sunday night.

A spokesperson for the Houthi military said they brought down the MQ-9 Reaper with a “locally manufactured missile”.

The US military’s Central Command – which oversees American military operations – did not acknowledge the strikes.

This came after nuclear talks between the US and Iran in Oman over the weekend.

Oman diplomat Badr al-Busaidi confirmed that the talks were positive, saying that they began in a “friendly atmosphere”.

The two parties agreed to meet again this week with Trump adding: “We’ll be making a decision on Iran very quickly,”

But the president issued an aggressive warning to the Houthis on Sunday.

How the Houthis are connected to Iran

THE Houthi rebels have spent months terrorising the Red Sea by launching persistent missile and drone attacks on vessels and warships.

The Shia militant group, which now controls large swaths of Yemen, spent over a decade being largely ignored by the world.

However, since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war, they sprung from relative obscurity to holding roughly £1trillion of world trade hostage – turning one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes into an active warzone.

Houthis, who are funded by the Iranian regime, operate on rudimentary intelligence and military equipment provided by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Their warped battle cry is “Death to America, Death to Israel, curse the Jews and victory to Islam”.

The group’s chiefs have previously said their main targets are Israel, and its allies the US and Britain.

And despite repeated threats from the West and joint US and UK strikes blitzing their strongholds in Yemen – Iran’s terror proxy appears undeterred.

The president vowed to fight the terror group and bring peace to the region in a chilling video which appeared to show an apparent terrorist being bombed.

Writing on Truth Social, Trump said: “Time for the terrorists to hide, but it won’t do them any good.

“Our Warfighters, the Greatest the World has ever seen, will find them and bring them to swift Justice.

“I empowered our Warfighters, once again, just like I did against our fight with ISIS, who were completely obliterated in three weeks under General Daniel Caine, our new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

“We will support the Somali People, who should not allow the Houthis to embed (which they are trying to do!), to end terrorism, and bring prosperity to their Country.”

Just a few weeks ago, Trump began his “unrelenting” campaign of airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

The campaign has killed more than 120 people so far, according to figures released by the Houthis’ Health Ministry on Monday.

The attacks are part of US efforts to stop the attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

The Houthis claimed to have twice attacked the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman and its accompanying warships within 24 hours.

In response the US launched what it called a “decisive and powerful” wave of air strikes.

The US president has previously demanded that Iran stop supporting the rebel group, and vowed to hold the Islamic Republic accountable for “every shot” the group fires.
