ORLANDO, Fla. – This week on “Black Men Sundays,” host Corie Murray interviews Marquel Russell, a successful entrepreneur known for his ability to create simple yet effective systems for business growth. He is a best-selling author and CEO who has been recognized for his exceptional talent in strategically scaling companies to be more profitable, scalable, sustainable, enjoyable, and sellable.
Marquel Russell’s innovative approach to scaling companies has resulted in over $1 billion in client success stories, billions of ad impressions, millions of high-quality leads, and tens of thousands of satisfied clients. He shared an example to illustrate the difference between scale and growth in business.
Russell explained the concept of scale using a hypothetical scenario of selling pens door to door. Initially selling pens individually, he then expands by bringing on team members to also sell pens. With each new team member, the business multiplies its sales efforts, allowing for a significant increase in the number of pens sold without Russell having to personally sell them. This is the essence of scaling a business.
From high school dropout and former drug dealer to financial role model, Russell is a walking billboard for Canadian rapper and singer Drake’s song lyrics, “started from the bottom now I’m here.”
