The pair, identified as Padilla and Vela, had left the child alone for a minimum of three hours on a Saturday. Upon their return, they discovered the boy was unresponsive. Veal mentioned that the couple reached out for assistance just before 9 p.m. However, it seems that they hesitated in making the call, the exact duration of which has not been specified.
Padilla was being held on a $200,000 bond, while Vela was being held without bond.
