Argentina‘s World Cup celebration in Buenos Aires made headlines around the globe and Emi Martinez was once again the centre of attention.

The Argentina goalkeeper turned up with a baby doll with Kylian Mbappe‘s face on it, sparking jeers among Argentina fans but criticism from foreign journalists. Piers Morgan attacked the Argentinian side, especially Lionel Messi.

Piers’ tears

After the photo of Martinez was published, Morgan was quick to post his opinion on social media.

“Why is Messi letting Martinez mock & humiliate Mbappe like this?” Morgan tweeted. “They’re teammates at PSG, just so weird & graceless.”

The post quickly went viral, with some supporting the Englishman and others in favour of the Argentines.

But it was not the only message Morgan sent to the Argentine star. After the publication of Messi waking up with the World Cup, he criticised the player.

“OK, Lionel.. we get it, you won the World Cup,” Morgan tweeted in reference to Messi‘s Instagram post. “You’re slightly over-egging the gloating souffle now…”

The celebration of the Argentinean national team in Buenos Aires was reported all over the world, because of the crowds in the streets of the country’s capital. Up to 5 million Argentinians celebrated with the world champions.

Still, Morgan was not happy: “So? The city’s population is 15m – have the other 11m stayed inside because like me, they think Maradona is still the Argentinian GOAT?”
