The statement about Bruce Willis‘ state of health shocked the world of cinema. One of the most famous faces in the history of Hollywood suffered from a disease that prevented him from communicating properly and left all his fans in shock.
Now, nine months later, there is a rumor about the possible origin of the actor’s illness.
The actor, a specialist in action movies who more recently starred in low-budget feature films, had an accident while shooting a film by Antoine Fuqua, a war movie production back in 2003, and this could have been the cause of his aphasia.

“Our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” the statement said in March.
However, the cause of his illness was unknown to the general public, not so to his closest circle, which has suggested in recent days that signs of the disease had been visible for years.
German outlet Filmstarts has raised a suspicion: an accident during the filming of ‘Tears of the Sun’ could have been the cause.

Aphasia is a brain injury that affects a person’s communication. This ailment prevents the patient from speaking, but also from understanding other people. The rumor came from Bruce Willis‘ circle, after an anonymous friend told The Sun in March 2022 that the changes in Bruce Willis began five years earlier.
“At first it was nothing big, just little things like he needed help talking using earplugs. Everyone who knew him knew something was wrong, but we didn’t know the exact diagnosis. We knew there was something cognitively wrong, it wasn’t a secret, but that specific diagnosis and the fact that he would no longer be performing was surprising,” the source said.
The accident in question occurred when Bruce Willis was hit in the head by a “projectile” while filming ‘Tears of the Sun’.
Because of this, the actor sued Revolution Studios for “extreme mental, physical and emotional pain” and also the special effects manager, Joe Pancake.
