A teenager in Florida, aged 17, was taken into custody recently after he confessed to adding bleach to his 77-year-old adopted mother’s milk in an effort to harm her.
The woman’s other son called 911, WESH reported.
An alarming 911 call made to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office revealed the shocking incident. The caller expressed concern, stating, “We have a 17-year-old here who put Clorox in our milk, attempting to poison our mother, and I don’t know what to do about that.”
Upon investigation, the mother recounted pouring a glass of milk and detecting a strong chemical taste with her first sip. A responding deputy verified the presence of a potent bleach smell emanating from the milk container, corroborating her suspicions.
The teen reportedly told investigators he was upset with his mother and didn’t want to live with her. And now he isn’t.
He’s been charged with attempted murder, poisoning food or water, and aggravated abuse of an elderly person, court documents say.
Deputies said the victim didn’t show any symptoms but asked for a medical evaluation.
