Arkansas School Director, Staff Arrested Over Makeshift ‘Fight Club’ for Children

An Arkansas school director and three others have been arrested after authorities say a “makeshift child fight club” operated at a private school.

Mary Tracy Morrison, a 50-year-old individual who serves as the owner and director of The Delat Institute for the Developing Brain and the Engage program, was apprehended on Monday, together with Michael Bean, aged 38, Kristin Bell, aged 36, and Kathrine Lipscomb, aged 45, as reported by KBTX.

Prosecutors said a video showed a teacher directing a student to hit another student “in the private area.” The incident lasted about 30 minutes.

According to the Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood, Morrison, characterized as the main instigator of the incident, is currently in custody on a bond of $250,000 and has been instructed to refrain from any communication with the school or its students.

Bean and Bell have been assigned bonds of $10,000 each. Lipscomb, who holds a teaching license, was issued a bond of $100,000 primarily due to her legal obligations to report such incidents, as detailed by KIAT8.

Defense attorneys argue no actual injuries occurred and asked for reduced charges. Hagood rejected the request, saying, “I can’t believe how we have to explain to men how painful it is to be hit in the private area.”

All four are due in court May 22, according to DailyMail.
