A Kentucky father says he found a 20-year-old man naked in his 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Florence in the early hours of April 28 following a report from an unnamed father who stated that he was awakened by noises emanating from his 13-year-old daughter’s room.
Police arrived and arrested Parker Kramer on a burglary charge two hours later, FOX 8 reports.
Upon confronting the intruder and informing him of the impending police call, the father proceeded downstairs to retrieve a handgun. The suspect managed to brush past the father and make a hasty exit through the front door.
The father allegedly pulled out a gun and fired three shots, all reportedly aimed at the ground near the front porch of the home.
Later on, deputies located the suspect’s vehicle and presented a picture of the registered owner to the father. He positively identified the individual as the same person he had encountered unclothed in his daughter’s room.
Officers later used a drone to locate Kramer, police said. Kramer allegedly told investigators he had driven 90 miles from Louisville to meet the underage girl.
Kentucky law sets the age of consent at 16, but deputies have not confirmed whether the suspect knew the girl’s age.
Following his statements to investigators, authorities charged Kramer with two counts of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree sodomy, in addition to burglary.
Boone remains behind bars at the Boone County Jail with bond set at $250,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 5, according to court records.
