Top players return for another round of taxing trivia in 'Jeopardy! Masters' for chance to win $500,000

LOS ANGELES — A new “Jeopardy! Masters” tournament is featuring some of the best and brightest contestants from the show, offering a spectacle of tantalizing trivia. The host for this tournament is none other than Ken Jennings, setting the stage for an exciting competition.

This event holds a sense of nostalgia for Jennings as he welcomes back nine elite former “Jeopardy” participants to once again test their knowledge on the iconic stage. The ultimate “Master” of this tournament will walk away with a prize of $500,000, with an additional $100,000 being donated to charity.

“The contestants are seasoned professionals,” commented Jennings. “Having been on the show before, they are familiar with the dynamics of being in front of the camera, as well as the strategic risks involved in the game. Viewers can expect to witness large bets, significant shifts in leading positions, and overall, a thrilling competition. As a devoted ‘Jeopardy!’ enthusiast, I consider myself to have the best vantage point to experience it all.”

One competitor is Ken’s friend – and sometimes nemesis – previous champ Brad Rutter.

He last appeared in 2020 to compete against Jennings and James Holzhauer for the “Greatest of All Time Tournament.”

“This is special to me because Brad – best ‘Jeopardy’ player of his generation,” said Jennings. “I was always the runner up to this guy. I’m very relieved I’m the host and I don’t have to play against this guy again.”

Along with the “Jeopardy! Masters,” we’ll also see the debut of a new season of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.”

“I think so many people are locked in to the ‘Jeopardy/Wheel’ habit, you know it’s a big part of America’s evening,” said Jennings. “It’s fun we get to have it back-to-back in primetime.”

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy! Masters” air Wednesday nights on ABC.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
