Love was in the air on Live with Kelly and Mark on Thursday!
To celebrate their 29th wedding anniversary, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took to the stage dancing to Stevie Wonder’s “I’ll Be Loving You Always,” a song they both hold dear.
Expressing their astonishment at their enduring relationship, Ripa found it “wild” while Consuelos described it as “insane.”
“That’s like going to first grade, to high school twice, and then taking college and getting a one-year masters,” he deduced.
Ripa quipped, “If you say so. I don’t know how to do that kind of math. I don’t know how to math in my head like that.”
Consuelos explained, “Because as a kid, from first grade until you graduate high school seems like a lifetime.”
While Ripa echoed her husband’s reasoning, noting that “it is a lifetime,” as Consuelos said that they’ve “done that twice.”
As for “what kind of masters” they’ve earned as a married couple, Consuelos proposed “psychology.”
Ripa teased, “We have our PhD in psychology, for sure.”
After congratulating each other on the milestone, Ripa added, “We did it, and we still have things to talk about. Every day. Yes, we do.”
Consuelos replied, “I like those conversations.”
The couple’s touching moment took a sentimental turn as they declared each other as their “best friend,” with Ripa expressing her joy at having married Consuelos.
“If we didn’t find each other… who else would we be married to?” she asked. “Oh my gosh, what a mess.”
Consuelos joked, “A list. I’d probably be on marriage… no, I wouldn’t do that more than once. I couldn’t do it more than once.”
However, that answer wasn’t sufficient for Ripa, who jokes that this is her “favorite game to play.”
“Let’s say you didn’t marry me,” she continued.
Consuelos claimed, “I’d probably be single.”
Ripa replied, “You think?”
Consuelos said, “Yes.”
Still uncertain, Ripa reiterated, “All this time?”
After Consuelos once again told Ripa “yes,” she called BS on him.
“Lies,” she quipped. “Lies. The absolute lies that you are witnessing here on our wedding anniversary.”
