Florida police arrested a man on Wednesday for raping a 97-year-old woman last month.
According to a report by WPLG, the elderly individual receiving hospice care is currently nonverbal and bedridden. The victim’s niece, who also serves as her legal guardian, allegedly received a notification from a Ring camera that captured Timothy Morris, a 66-year-old individual, sexually assaulting the woman.
Morris is said to have been involved in providing care to the victim during periods when hospice personnel were not present. As per information from People magazine, suspicions were raised when a hospice nurse informed the niece about an unusual discharge observed from the victim’s vagina.
The niece, as per People magazine, decided to discreetly set up a Ring camera in the victim’s bedroom. Subsequently, it was reported that the niece received a notification on a Wednesday through the Ring camera, revealing Morris engaging in sexual assault against her relative.
Morris has pleaded not guilty to sexual battery on a victim who is physically incapacitated. He remains jailed without bond.
