MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Mount Dora’s fire and water departments are conducting routine fire hydrant testing throughout the city.
While conducting tests, residents may observe short periods when the water from their taps appears discolored or like “brown water.” The reason behind this change in color is linked to the process of hydrant testing. The city informed that teams are currently working on flushing the system to enhance the clarity of the water.
The city stated that this yearly procedure is crucial for meeting the standards set by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and for preserving the overall quality of the water system.
The departments are taking all necessary precautions to minimize any inconvenience to homes and businesses.
Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out to the Mount Dora Fire Department at 352-735-7140 for more information.
