Mark Consuelos is surprised that he used to take Kelly Ripa out for weeknight dinners at 9 p.m. before joining ‘Live,’ admitting it was way past his bedtime.

Mark Consuelos has been co-hosting Live with Kelly and Mark for just over two years now. He has come to realize the early mornings and the fact that going out on weeknights is no longer as common for him.

Kelly Ripa admitted on Tuesday that she and Consuelos were “a little tired” after attending a “beautiful event” the night before.

He humorously mentioned that spotting him and Kelly out on a school night is like seeing unicorns in the wild because they usually prefer staying in. “We don’t know how to find our seat, we don’t know how to eat,” Kelly Ripa added.

Consuelos recalled, “I used to drag you out during the week.”

Ripa agreed, “All the time.”

While Ripa claimed it was her husband’s “favorite” thing to do before he became her co-host on Live, Consuelos was baffled by his old antics.

Initially underestimating the early mornings, Mark shared, “I was like, ‘What’s the big deal? It’s an hour in the morning. What? You can just go in there and just do the thing.’” However, now he finds himself checking the clock and realizing it’s already 9:00 at night, well past his bedtime.

Ripa added, “You used to make me go to dinner at 9:00.”

Consuelos quipped, “What was wrong with me?”

Ripa then seized the opportunity to rib Consuelos.

“Oh, I mean, so much,” she joked. “This is only a one-hour show, and we have to interview celebrities.”
