A young Colorado woman and a baby girl were shot to death Saturday in an apparent domestic shooting incident at an Aurora apartment complex.
Another woman was shot in the hand, and the suspect was found in a back bedroom, dead from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot, KUSA reported.
The Aurora Police department was notified of an incident shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday after receiving a 911 call where the dispatcher overheard sounds of conflict, loud voices, and cries. The initial call was abruptly cut off, but another call reporting gunshots was made while the police were en route.

Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain said at a news conference Saturday afternoon that the incident was “not a random act” and that the shooting targeted “family members,” KDVR reported.
Police said they found a woman in her early 20s and 1-year-old infant on the ground when they arrived. They were rushed to the hospital. The third victim, a woman in her early to mid 40s, was shot in the hand. She was treated on the scene.
“The officers cleared the apartment, went into a back bedroom, and in the back bedroom they located a male who at this time appears to have self-inflicted with a handgun,” Chamberlain said.
Police confirmed that the younger woman and the baby girl had died late Saturday afternoon, KUSA said. Chamberlain said the younger woman is believed to be the baby’s mother and the older woman the grandmother.
Police are working to determine what led to the shooting, but did not release any details or the names of those involved.
“It appears that all of these individuals are family members or are connected in some way,” Chamberlain said, according to KDVR. “This was not a random act, so again I want to let the community to be aware of that, this was not something that spontaneously happened around this area or this community but it appears to, unfortunately, be an act against family members.”
