A video captured an appalling incident where a driver stopped her car, set a homeless woman on fire, kicked the victim after the heinous act, and then fled the scene.
In the disturbing surveillance footage, the perpetrator, identified as Jacqueline Popaibarra, a 34-year-old individual, drove her car down a serene street in South Sacramento on April 26. She eventually stopped beside a homeless encampment.
Exiting her vehicle, Popaibarra engaged in an altercation with the 49-year-old homeless woman. The victim had just settled down to rest for the night at the time, as reported by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
The homeless woman was taken to a hospital and intubated for several days, leaving her unable to speak or provide law enforcement with a statement, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
