Bill Clinton Spills the Tea on Scandals, Regrets, in New Memoir, and It’s Quite a Treat

Here’s a good laugh for you to enjoy, before you are forced to sit down at Thanksgiving dinner with your despondent, leftist relatives. Former President Bill Clinton, in his upcoming memoir, discusses the personal toll that his wife Hillary Clinton’s loss in the 2016 presidential election took on him.

The memoir, entitled “Citizen – My Life After The White House,” covers everything from Hillary’s defeat to Jeffrey Epstein to Monica Lewinsky. Talk about a dude who can’t decide which bad decision to cover, am I right?

Clinton refers to the outcome of the election as “the darkest possible in the United States.” The book, slated for release next week, also delves into the myriad of controversies from his presidency and his association with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“I couldn’t sleep for two years after the election. I was so angry, I wasn’t fit to be around,” Clinton wrote, reflecting on how the aftermath of the 2016 election affected him.

The former president also issued an apology for his behavior during this era. “I apologize to all those who endured my outbursts of rage, which lasted for years and bothered or bored people who thought it pointless to rehash things that couldn’t be changed,” he writes.

In case you’re wondering who the former president blames for his wife’s loss, it’s the usual suspects: The email scandal, former FBI Director James Comey, the media, and Russia, Russia, Russia.

Clinton notes that “Kathleen Hall Jamieson, a highly regarded social scientist, said Russia’s cyber attacks piled on top of Comey’s interventions were effective enough to persuade voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin to vote for third parties or stay at home.” He adds pointedly, “If so, Putin’s enablers were Comey and the political press.”

While Clinton blames Comey and the Russians for Hillary’s loss, perhaps it is more likely that a lot of voters were just nostalgic for simpler scandals from his time in the White House.

The former president also discusses his connection to Epstein, claiming the now deceased, convicted pedophile’s private jet had been used to support his foundation’s work. He denies any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, of course. “I had always thought Epstein was odd but had no inkling of the crimes he was committing,” he writes. “He hurt a lot of people, but I knew nothing about it, and by the time he was first arrested in 2005, I had stopped contact with him.”

Clinton says he regrets flying on Epstein’s jet, which makes perfect sense when you think about it. After all, who hasn’t booked a flight they later regretted?

Speaking of Clinton scandals, the subject of Monica Lewinsky also comes up. Clinton recounts a 2018 interview on the “Today Show” in which he answered questions about whether he ever apologized to the former intern. While he admits he did not speak to her personally, “I did say publicly on more than one occasion I was sorry,” he writes.

I’m sure Clinton’s upcoming book will be the most compelling memoir that I will never read. But it will probably get the former president a quick boost before he fades back into irrelevancy.
