An Illinois woman is behind bars after she allegedly stabbed her own son over the weekend.
Police at Evanston Hospital called the authorities on Saturday morning regarding a child who had been admitted with a piercing wound to the abdomen, caused by a sharp object, as reported by CWB.
The police learned that the boy was stabbed at his residence, an apartment complex in the 1700 block of West Touhy Avenue in the Rogers Park area.Â
The Chicago police issued a statement explaining that a 7-year-old boy at a residence was attacked by a 26-year-old woman who used a sharp object to stab him.
The child was transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The young boy is listed in fair condition.
The woman is in custody.
