Lady A’s Hillary Scott Shares Glimpse Into Her 3 Daughters’ ‘Musical Gifts’

Lady A’s Hillary Scott can’t believe how talented her daughters are when it comes to music.

Scott, 38, shared exclusively with Us Weekly that all three of her daughters possess musical talents as she celebrated her new holiday track “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” which features her 11-year-old daughter, Eisele Kaye. She notes, “It’s fascinating to see how each of them expresses their gifts in unique ways.”

While her twins Betsy and Emory may only be six years old, they are already showing signs of musical abilities.

Emphasizing the individuality of her daughters’ musical inclinations, Scott recalled instances such as Emory capturing melodies in her mind and wanting to record them immediately. Meanwhile, Betsy’s passion lies in dancing, and they both have varying preferences when it comes to music styles.

Musicians and singers are used to basking in the glow of fame — but sometimes they share the spotlight with their kids. When Superstars like Beyoncé, Pink and Kelly Clarkson hit the road, they have been known to bring their children along for the ride. Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, 12,  joined her mother onstage in […]

For instance, the Scott household enjoys a diverse range of music genres. While Betsy gravitates towards tunes from the Descendants soundtrack and classics like Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen,” Emory’s go-to favorites include tracks from Imagine Dragons, especially during their rides to school.

As the oldest child, Eisele has had more opportunities to tour with Scott and Lady A over the years. It helped prepare her for the opportunity to perform “Hard to Wait for Christmas” at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry for an Opry Country Christmas on December 5.

“She’s in her musical theater era right now,” Scott said before the special performance. “We listen to the Hamilton soundtrack several times a week. We’re getting to go see it in New York. That’s kind of an early Christmas gift for you this year.”

This holiday season, Scott and Eisele are hoping to make the season bright with a special holiday song. Titled “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” the track aims to ignite Christmas cheer for all ages and reminisces on the many things that make the holiday season so special.

“We hope that this song just allows for moments — even if it’s just the 3 and a half minutes that they put this song on — where families can smile and laugh and be playful together,” Scott shared. “If I had a Christmas wish, that would be it. When this song is played, I hope that whoever you’re with, that y’all giggle and have fun and it’s playful in a season that can sometimes be very hard.”

Tons of celebrity kids have followed in their musical parents’ footsteps over the years, starting pop careers of their own — and racking up awards in the process. Miley Cyrus, whose dad Billy Ray Cyrus is a country superstar, is one of the most notable examples of a famous kid following her parents into showbiz. […]

As Scott continues to embrace the positive response to the song, she remains grateful for the support of her husband, Chris Tyrrell.

She also keeps faith in the “compass” of her family as they navigate the highs and lows of life all year long.

“We wake up Christmas morning, and the first thing we do is we read Luke 2 [scripture],” Scott shared. “Out of all the gifts that we receive, to our family, the greatest gift was the miracle that was born on Christmas. We just always pause and make sure that is where we begin each day and really it’s in the spirit of love and being light in the world and hoping that what we’re instilling in our children is that we go be that light to others.”
