A West Virginia woman was arrested this week after young children made several 911 calls crying and screaming.
Amanda Lynn Spurlock, 32, was charged with two counts of child neglect with risk of injury, WCHS reported.
Court records indicate that deputies were dispatched to the residence on Monday evening following multiple 911 calls made by children. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered two children in unwashed diapers at the residence. During a search of the premises, authorities came across an empty prescription bottle, cannabis, charred pieces of foil indicative of illicit substance consumption, and a powdery white substance. Shockingly, all these items were easily accessible to the children.
Spurlock was found “lying on the floor passed out” in a bedroom and appeared to be intoxicated when she woke up.
She reportedly admitted to regularly using fentanyl for the passed two weeks, including smoking the drug while the children were present.
She’s being held on a $20,000 bail. No information was available on the status of the children or their relationship with Spurlock.
