Joe Biden denies hiding cancer diagnosis following Trump’s harsh accusation

Former President Joe Biden had to shut down conspiracies he was diagnosed with prostate cancer before last week.  

‘Prior to Friday, President Biden had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer,’ a spokesperson for Biden insisted on Tuesday. 

It added that Biden did not have have the test done to check for prostate problems since 2014.

The announcement was made in response to President Donald Trump’s renewed promotion of theories suggesting that Biden was aware of his cancer diagnosis long before it was disclosed, insinuating that his administration had been concealing his health condition.

‘I’m surprised that it wasn’t, you know, the public wasn’t notified a long time ago because to get to stage nine, that’s a long time,’ Trump said. 

On Sunday, Biden’s team disclosed that the ex-president is grappling with an aggressive type of prostate cancer that has advanced and affected his bones.

The former president received an outpouring of support, including from Trump and the first lady. 

Addressing mounting skepticism about whether Biden was informed of his prostate cancer while in office, his office issued a statement. The following day, Biden shared a cheerful photo with his wife, Jill Biden, and their cat Willow.

‘Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,’ Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday. 

He added: ‘We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.’

But doubt over the timing of the diagnosis swift grew considering that Biden, as president, was likely routinely checked for the levels that indicate prostate cancer. 

When in office presidents receive thorough annual physicals.   

This would likely include for someone of Biden’s age a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test, which measures the level of PSA in the blood. If elevated, this marker could indicate prostate cancer or other prostate conditions.

Biden’s physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote in a statement after a check-up in February 2024: ‘The President feels well and this year’s physical identified no new concerns. He continues to be fit for duty and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations.’

His office stated on Tuesday: ‘President Biden’s last known PSA was in 2014.’

Additionally, the president’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. fanned the flames of the conspiracy along with and other members of the online MAGAverse who started stirring the pot over whether a cover-up was afoot. 

‘What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another cover-up???’ Trump Jr. mused of the former president’s wife. 

Dr. Biden, the former first lady, is not a medical doctor. She has a Ph.D in education.

The online MAGAverse is questioning whether Biden knew about his cancer a long time ago and if his diagnosis was part of the cover-up of his declining health while in office

After bragging on Monday about acing his own physical exam – and noting that he had taken a cognitive test – President Trump suggested something was awry with Biden’s White House doctor. 

‘I think that if you look, it’s the same doctor that said that Joe was cognitively fine. There was nothing wrong with him,’ Trump said. ‘Maybe it was the same doctor, and somebody is not telling the facts.’

He said that while he felt ‘badly’ about the diagnosis, but added: ‘I think people should try and find out what happened.’ 

After Biden bombed his debate against Trump in late June last year, questions about his fitness for office got even louder. 

Then White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre initially bungled a response when asked why a Parkinson’s disease expert had visited the White House multiple times. 

Additionally, Biden’s White House physician, Dr. O’Connor, never took questions from the press, unlike Trump’s original White House physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, now a MAGA-aligned Republican representing Texas in Congress. 

Trump’s second White House doctor, Dr. Sean Conley, addressed the press when Trump contracted COVID-19 just weeks before the 2020 election. 

Conley was criticized, however, for painting a much-too-rosy picture of Trump’s battle with the disease, which could have turned deadly. 

Throughout Biden’s term, O’Connor stayed away from the cameras. 

Biden’s daughter Ashley posted an image to Insatgram alongside her father and promised: ‘I will be right by his side through it all. Like he has been by mine every day of my life’

A statement on Biden’s diagnosis on Sunday notes: ‘Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.’

‘On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,’ it adds of the grave prognosis.

Prostate cancers are given a ‘Gleason score’ that measures how the cancerous cells look compared with normal cells. Biden’s score of 9 suggests his cancer is among the most advance and severe.

Biden’s office noted: ‘While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.’
