An Alabama man is behind bars after police found human remains who they believe are of a missing woman who vanished over the weekend.
The Florence police found human remains on Tuesday which they think belong to Autumn Paige Strickland, a 38-year-old woman who was reported missing last Saturday.
“Those remains will be sent to a forensics lab to be analyzed for proper identification,” Florence police Capt. Jason Fort said, according to Al.cim.
Logan Rogers, 28, of Florence, was arrested and charged with murder.
Fort indicated that the investigation into Strickland’s disappearance suggested she had been intentionally struck by a vehicle.
The police apprehended Rogers at a residence on North Wood Avenue in Florence on Tuesday. His charge was increased from attempted murder to murder by Fort once the remains were discovered at the house.
“Based on this discovery, his charge has been upgraded to murder,” FPD said in a news release.
Rogers remains behind bars at the Lauderdale County jail without bail. Check back for updates.
