An Alabama man charged with killing a missing woman found dead at his home allegedly hit her with his car and then turned around haer second time.
Court documents state that Logan Michael Rogers, aged 28, later returned around 30 minutes after in a pickup truck to retrieve the body of Autumn Paige Strickland, according to WAAY.
Autumn Paige Strickland, aged 38, had been reported missing on Sunday evening, as reported by CrimeOnline. Rogers was apprehended at his residence on Tuesday and initially charged with attempted murder. However, following the discovery of the body during a search warrant, the charge was elevated to murder.
Strickland was last seen leaving a hotel in Florence just before 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. At the outset of the investigation, authorities mentioned she was considered “endangered” and likely “living with a condition that may impair her judgment,” as noted by Law&Crime.
Police said they received multiple tips in the course of the investigation, including video evidence from a local business, that led them to Rogers. Strickland’s cell phone was also found in the location where she was struck by the car.
They have not yet said how the two knew one another or commented on any possible motive.
