A man from Alabama is currently in custody after reportedly running over a woman twice with his car and then later returning to the location to retrieve the victim’s lifeless body.
The individual in question, 28-year-old Logan Michael Rogers, is facing charges of murder in connection with the death of Autumn Paige Strickland, aged 38. Strickland was declared missing at the beginning of the week, and her deceased body was allegedly discovered at Rogers’ residence during a police search on Tuesday.

The investigation began Sunday evening when Strickland was reported missing. She was initially believed to have been last seen leaving the Stricklin Hotel on Court Street in Florence shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday. At the time, police believed she was “endangered” and “may be living with a condition that may impair her judgment.”
Detectives received multiple tips from the community. Further investigation, including obtaining video evidence, led them to Rogers.
Cops arrested Rogers early Tuesday and later allegedly found Strickland’s body inside his home. Investigators have not yet said how Rogers and Strickland knew each other.

In a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime and local media outlets, cops now believe Rogers killed Strickland on Saturday with his Kia Soul. He struck her with the car and then turned around and hit her again, investigators allege. Strickland allegedly drove away but returned some 30 minutes later and collected her body and took the remains to his home in the 2200 block of North Wood Avenue in Florence, where cops later found her.
A motive for the crime has also yet to be released.
Rogers remains in the Lauderdale County Jail without bond. He did not have a lawyer listed.
“First and foremost, we want to thank our community for the outpouring of support and the valuable tips that have helped move this case forward,” police said in a press release. “We also want to commend our detectives, who have worked tirelessly around the clock to follow every lead.
