Troopers say the pilot was attempting to take off from Gibbs Aviation when the crash happened.
SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating an airplane crash that happened on Sunday in Sandusky County.
According to OSHP officials with the Fremont Post, the crash happened on County Road 259, just west of County Road 232 in Riley Township.Â
Troopers say the pilot was attempting to take off from Gibbs Aviation when the crash happened.
The plane came to a rest just north of County Road 259. The pilot was not injured in the crash, according to authorities.
OSHP received help from various agencies at the scene including the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Clyde Fire Department, Ballville Fire Department, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
