The office of French President Emmanuel Macron is denying any insinuation that a video circulating on social media, showing his wife playfully nudging him in the face, has any negative connotations.
The shocking video shows a plane door being opened as Macron and his wife, Brigitte, prepare to disembark after arriving in Vietnam Sunday evening.
According to ABC News, Macron’s visit to Vietnam aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two countries. However, reports suggest that the unity observed during the public appearance does not extend to their private interactions.
Upon exiting the plane, Macron turned to his right to converse with an unseen individual. Suddenly, an arm clad in a red sports coat intervened, giving the President a playful shove in the face.
Macron quickly realizes everybody outside the plane could see what happened, flashes a smile, and waves to the crowd as if nothing happened.

It looks like some sort of scene out os a sitcom. A couple is having a physical altercation as chaos occurs behind the scenes, and when the curtain rolls back, it’s as if nothing happened.
Macron heads back toward his wife after the fake smile, seemingly determined to make a comment. Shortly thereafter, the couple emerges from the plane together. Emmanuel holds his arm up, hoping that Brigitte will lock around it as they descend the stairs.
His hopes are quickly dashed.
I’m not sure which part of the video is funnier – Macron getting a hand to the face, or Macron trying to recover from the situation with some level of his pride intact.
Or maybe, it’s his office trying to cover for the whole train wreck of a scene.
