Drake Gives $10,000 to the Winner of a Toronto Lookalike Contest

Drake is the latest celebrity to support a lookalike contest in his honor.

The rapper, 38, said he would award $10,000 to the winner of a contest held in his hometown of Toronto on Saturday, December 14.

Casuals Bakery in Toronto recently held a lookalike competition that caught the attention of the famous rapper, Drake. He expressed his interest in the contest by offering to add $10,000 to the prize money through a message on Instagram. The bakery shared this exciting news with the public on December 12.

The owner of Casuals, in response to Drake’s offer, shared the message online, expressing shock and excitement. The baker also encouraged potential Drake lookalikes to get ready for the challenge.

Giving back. Celebrities may be beloved by people around the world, but it’s not a one-sided relationship. Stars such as Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban adore their fans right back, going out of their way to make sure their supporters know that they are appreciated through acts of kindness. For some, like Drake […]

The competition took place last Saturday and was won by a female fan who creatively styled her hair in pigtails resembling Drake’s iconic look from October. She also drew on a beard to complete the doppelgänger appearance, as seen in a video posted by the bakery.

The Drake lookalike contest follows similar contests around the world celebrating the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Paul Mescal, Glen Powell, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles.

Dune star Chalamet crashed his lookalike contest in New York City’s Washington Square Park in October. Chalamet, 28, appeared to have snuck into the crowd wearing a baseball cap and black mask before eventually revealing himself and stopping to pose for photos with excited fans.

Miles Mitchell, a Staten Island–based contestant who dressed up as Willy Wonka, won the event. Mitchell, 21, told Us Weekly he would “buy a bunch of chocolate” with his winnings.

In November, Hit Man star Powell, 36, promised the winner of a lookalike contest held in Austin, Texas, a cameo in his next movie for a family member.

“Look, I know there is some cash and a hat at stake here, but I just want to say that the winner of today’s contest gets a personal prize from me,” Powell said in a video shared via X. “Now you may know that my parents make a cameo in every movie I make, but today, the winner of the Glen Powell lookalike contest wins their parents, or any family member of their choice, a cameo in my next movie. I am completely serious.”

According to the Austin American-Statesman, Max Braunstein won the competition and took part in a post-ceremony video chat with Powell. Photos captured by the outlet revealed that contestants arrived in cowboy hats that nodded to Powell’s character in Twisters, Tyler Owens.
