Joe Biden recently made his first public appearance following the announcement that he is battling late-stage cancer, and it was a cause for concern among Democrats. During his speech, Biden exhibited familiar behaviors such as confusion and sudden episodes of shouting that have become characteristic of his public appearances.
The speech occurred at a Memorial Day event in Delaware, albeit several days after the actual holiday. While the event aimed to honor fallen soldiers, it inadvertently highlighted the controversy surrounding Biden and his team’s attempts to conceal his declining health.

One notable gaffe during the speech was when Biden stumbled over a well-known passage from the Declaration of Independence. This misstep raised further doubts about his mental acuity, especially considering his claims of being mentally sharp and capable of defeating Donald Trump in the 2024 election had he not withdrawn. The inconsistencies in Biden’s narrative, including his sudden exit from the race, remain unaddressed by him and his supporters. The ongoing efforts to excuse Biden’s behavior as a mere stutter are becoming increasingly implausible with each public appearance.

The point here isn’t to pile on, though they would be an understandable pursuit given how those of us who told the truth about Biden’s condition were treated. The point is that without accountability, this will simply happen again, whether it’s hiding a president’s senility or some other health issue. In the case of Biden, it seems highly probable his cancer diagnosis was covered up as well. Prostate cancer is generally slow-moving and it usually takes many years for a person to reach the point the former president is at.
All of this is made even more relevant by the current attempt by the press to obfuscate its role in the scandal. As RedState has extensively reported on, CNN’s Jake Tapper has been promoting his book, “Original Sin,” which blames a small cabal of unnamed officials and family members around Biden for the cover-up. That’s all well and good, but Tapper and nearly every other member of the mainstream media knowingly played along, attacking those who pointed out the former president’s ever-worsening condition. They now want to pretend there was just nothing they could have done differently.
With that said, Biden showing back up in public is a bigger problem for the Democratic Party. With every slurred word and bout of confusion, the American people are reminded that they were lied to. Not only that, they were insulted for daring to believe their eyes and ears and told they were the crazy ones for expressing concern. That’s not easily forgotten, and Biden seems intent on not letting them forget. Why? Because his ego won’t let him. Even in his waning moments, a time when he should be focused on family, Biden is doing interviews and giving speeches underscoring what he perpetrated on the country. To that I say, good. Democrats shouldn’t be let off the hook by him hiding in a basement somewhere.
