Law enforcement and Madison officials held a second press conference on Monday afternoon, offering condolences and support for the victims, their families, and communities, as well as gratitude to the first responders.
Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes spoke first and shared the following information:
The other officials who spoke included Fire Chief Chris Carbon, Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, and County Executive Melissa Agard.

Contrary to initial reports, authorities clarified that three individuals, including the shooter, were killed in the shooting, not five. Another press conference is scheduled to provide further updates shortly.

Authorities are now saying five were killed in this morning’s shooting.
Police have identified the shooter as a student at the school who is now deceased. Seven others have been taken to a medical facility for treatment, according to earlier reports. Below is the original story.

Police in Madison, Wisconsin are investigating a school shooting that took place late Monday morning.
The shooting took place at Abundant Life Christian in Madison. Three people are dead, including the shooter, Madison police are now confirming.

In a press update held early Monday afternoon, Madison police confirmed the shooter was a juvenile. Seven people have been transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
The school is attended by students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
