Yorkshire is still suffering the consequences of Storm Henk which brought heavy rain and strong winds to much of the country on Tuesday, including Yorkshire.
Flooding has caused problems over the past few days after heavy rain fell on already saturated ground. Flooding caused travel chaos in Sheffield, The River Ouse in York burst its banks and roads across the county were closed due to floods.
Today, there are currently 61 live flood warnings and alerts across the region issued by the Environment Agency, along with several road closures.

There are 31 flood warnings, where flooding is expected, issued across various parts of the River Ouse, River Don, River Aire and other locations. And 30 flood alerts, where flooding is possible, affecting rivers all over the county.
After a wet start to the New Year, more rain is forecast for today, which could impact the flood warnings which are in place. The Met Office weather forecast for Yorkshire on Thursday, January 4, says: “Cloudy with showers for most parts in the morning, showers generally becoming confined to high ground in the west by the afternoon. Best of any cloud breaks in the east. Turning colder, with light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.”
