Michael Bolton is on the mend after having a brain tumor removed.

The legendary singer, 70, revealed in a heartfelt message on Facebook Friday that “2023 ended up presenting [him] with some very unexpected challenges.”

“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery,” he wrote. “Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success.”

Bolton, who is “now recuperating at home” alongside his family, told fans that he will be “devoting” the next couple months to his “recovery,” which means he will “have to take a temporary break from touring.”

“It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon,” he wrote.

The “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer concluded the post by thanking his supporters for their unwavering love over the years.

“Know that I’m keeping your positive messages in my heart, and I’ll give you more updates as soon as I can,” he ended the note, signing, “Much love always, MB.”

Bolton, who also shared the message on Instagram, was instantly met with support in the comments section, with fans wishing him a speedy recovery.

Although the Grammy winner didn’t specify exactly when he discovered the tumor, fans grew increasingly concerned over his health last month after he took the stage during the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade.

The singer, clad in a white suit jacket and black slacks, performed a rendition of “Joy To The World” right in front of Cinderella’s castle — yet fans noticed that something seemed off about the star.

“What was wrong with Michael Bolton on the Christmas Parade? He looked in pain,” one concerned fan tweeted, as another fan said it looked like Bolton “couldn’t even move.”

“It’s getting sad,” they added.

“Oof. Michael Bolton didn’t look well on the Disney Christmas Parade show,” another wrote. “They barely put him on the screen during his performance. Hope that guy’s ok.”

Earlier in the month, Bolton also had to postpone one of his concerts due to an unspecified illness.

While it’s unclear how long the singer will need to take off, he was expected to kick off his tour in Florida on Feb. 1.

Bolton had planned to play shows across the globe throughout the entire year, with his final concert falling on Dec. 22 in Connecticut.
