A 17-year-old Wisconsin girl reportedly opened fire at her school on Monday, killing a teacher and another student.

An anonymous source from law enforcement informed the Associated Press regarding the suspect. The individual had turned the firearm on themselves prior to the arrival of officers. Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes mentioned that six additional students from Abundant Life Christian School are currently hospitalized. The injuries sustained vary from minor to potentially life-threatening.

A motive remains unclear, but Chief Barnes said the shooter’s family is cooperating.

Barnes said the handgun used in Monday’s shooting has been recovered. He said the shooting was confined to one area but he did not reveal where.
