Florida police arrested a man on Friday for sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy and possibly giving him HIV.
In August 2024, a victim reported a crime to the Pinellas County police. The victim’s age at the time of the incident was not revealed. The crime took place in unincorporated St. Petersburg and involved Bobby McAfee, aged 62. McAfee allegedly pinned the boy to the ground, held his hands above his head, and sexually assaulted him.
McAffee allegedly confessed to sexually assaulting the boy. McAffee also disclosed that he is HIV positive, according to police.
The victim revealed that he recently discovered he was also HIV positive, police said.
McAffee is charged with sexual battery of a child less than 12 years old. An investigation is ongoing.
